You are invited to come, listen and experience as Anand Mishra and Sohrab Aziz will perform and demonstrate 2 unique โSandhi Prakashโ (twilight) ragas. One before, and one after sunset.
Depending on the mood and the feeling of the event, Anand will decide what to play based on how the atmosphere unfolds. To complement both performances, he will introduce and answer any questions we may have about the Sandhi Prakash ragas, and explain why he has chosen to play a particular raga for this transition.
Timed to coincide with the coming on of the setting sun and the approaching of the night, we hope you will be able to enjoy both performances. There will be distinctively Indian take on this transition of time. Naturally, as with the certainty of the Sun-โsettingโ, punctuality is important!ย Please do not interrupt the concentration of our artists.
A choice of Vegetarian and Vegan snacks, Tea and/or Indian Chai is included in the cost of the entry ticket. Snacks and drinks are served before both performances.

Dr. Anand Kumar (Ph.D. in Sitar)
Anand Ji is a very renowned Sitar player in India and travels throughoutย India and the world giving Sitar recitals. His father was one of the most famous tabla players of his era.ย Their family is theย center ofย Varanasi music culture, the Benares Gharana. (A school of music that came out of the courts of the Maharajas, the kings of oldย pre colonized India. Anand Ji holds a PhD in raga composition, and will explain some of the art of composing.
